History

From Benx, built by BN Engenharia and designed by Pablo Slemenson, the Arbórea Itaim was conceived as a low-density urban retreat set against the greenery of Parque do Povo, under the motto of the nature of beauty. The great asset, however, lies inside: the interiors carry the signature of Piero Lissoni.

  • Concept: a low-density urban retreat, anchored in full integration with the greenery of Parque do Povo.
  • Trivia: it is Piero Lissoni‘s first project in South America. There are only 28 residences, with rooms delivered decorated according to the interior design project.

Architecture and aesthetics

Pablo Slemenson‘s signature here lies not in ornament, but in geometry: the concept rotates the floor plans relative to the tower’s axis, so that each residence receives its own angle onto the city. The manoeuvre opens unobstructed views towards Parque do Povo, the Marginal Pinheiros and the heart of Itaim, increases the entry of natural light and — in the firm’s argument — shields those views from future construction ahead, which in a densifying neighbourhood is a design decision, not a brochure promise. There are thirty storeys with a single apartment per floor, generous private terraces, and landscaping climbing from street level up the façades, where the vegetation alternates transparency and shade instead of being confined to planters. The common areas adopt a deconstructed rectangular format, spread across a generous ground floor and mezzanine. Interiors by Piero Lissoni — the Italian designer’s first project in South America — and landscaping by Orsini.

Itaim Bibi: the address

At this stretch, Avenida Cidade Jardim is already a different avenue: here it drops down towards the bridge over the river, and what lies opposite is not commerce, but greenery. Parque do Povo begins just over a hundred metres away — a distance you cross the street for, not one you drive to — Parque Bruno Covas and the Pinheiros riverbank come right after, and Estação Cidade Jardim on Line 9 – Emerald is about three hundred and fifty metres away, on the other side of the river. The corner with Rua Jacurici, on an inner block, gives the address its residential character; the avenue gives the access. It is the face of Itaim Bibi that trades the company of offices for that of the park without leaving the neighbourhood.
