History

By Construtora São Joséi with Yunyi, architecture by William Simonatoi, interiors by Bick & Simonatoi and landscaping by Gilberto Elkisi, 106 Seridó is a large 2012 complex in Jardim Europai, anchored beside Parque do Povoi, Clube Pinheirosi and Shopping Iguatemii. Two towers and four wings on the scale of a private harbour, with the serenity and infrastructure of a club.

Architecture and aesthetics

Contemporary and high-end, William Simonatoi‘s design resolves its own scale by dividing it: the 128 units do not reach the resident as a single block, but as four addresses of two flats per floor, served by twelve lifts. The arrival follows the same logic — a covered port-cochère and a tree-lined plaza before the lobby, so that one crosses a garden, not a pavement, to get home. Interiors by Bick & Simonatoi and landscaping by Gilberto Elkisi, who is behind the greenery that gives the four wings their names and welcomes those who arrive.

Jardim Europa: the address

Rua Seridó crosses Rua Tucumãi and continues towards the river; number 106 lies on the far side of that corner, 150 metres from the edge of Parque Bruno Covasi — closer to the linear park than to the door of Iguatemii. It is a specific slice of Jardim Europai. The neighbourhood the Companhia City laid out is horizontal, of large plots and houses, and that core remains intact further up Tucumã; those who live on this edge live something else — the strip where the garden-suburb grid meets the old Pinheiros floodplain and gains a park on one side and a railway on the other, with Cidade Jardim Stationi, on Line 9-Emerald, a few minutes’ walk away. The address keeps the neighbourliness of houses and the quiet of the district, and gains, by geography, a way out on foot that its interior does not have.
