History

From Emoçõesi, carried out by Star Óperai, built by NovoMarcoi, with architecture by William Simonatoi, interiors by Fernanda Marquesi and landscaping by Benedito Abbudi, Ópera Vila Nova is a high-end building with one apartment per floor in Vila Nova Conceiçãoi, led by a heavyweight project team.

• Concept: low-density high-end living, with one resident per floor, in Vila Nova Conceiçãoi.

Architecture and aesthetics

A corner building, and the project takes advantage of that: the front opens onto Avenida Hélio Pellegrinoi while one of the side faces is closed off by brise-soleils — the same skin that controls the sun resolves the privacy of the side exposed to the block. With twenty flats and one per floor, the tower’s body is slender; the base concentrates the social programme, with an armoured lobby, and sets back a garden, treated in the project as a secret garden, which gives the ground floor a backyard that a corner, by itself, would not offer. The unit types scale the same idea of a house in height: the garden unit on the lower floor, the standard unit in the tower’s body and the duplex on the penthouse, with private leisure space. Vila Nova Conceição: the address

Number 622 is almost at the end of Avenida Hélio Pellegrinoi: the corner with Rua Quiçaba is already at the seam where Vila Nova Conceiçãoi meets Moemai, where the streets start to be named after birds — Tuim, Inhambu. That seam is the practical advantage of the address. On one side lie the low height limit, the greenery and the discretion that define Vila Nova; on the other, the infrastructure of a consolidated Moema neighbourhood, with the Friday market between Tuim and Inhambu, the local shops and Moema Stationi on Line 5 – Lilac, the nearest metro from here.
