Who they are
Roberto Burle Marx (1909-1994) is the greatest name in Brazilian landscape architecture and a world reference, a visual artist who treated the garden as a living painting and elevated tropical flora to the status of modern art. His office (now Burle Marx & Cia) has carried the work forward since his death, and his body of work is internationally recognised (the Sítio Roberto Burle Marx is a UNESCO World Heritage Site). His signature on a project is a seal of landscape design of the highest calibre.
