Architecture and aesthetics

The design is by Triptyque Architecturei, the Franco-Brazilian practice whose signature is treating vegetation as structure, not as finish — concrete, wood and stone coexisting with the greenery built into the building. On a plot where more than 2,000 m² is green area, the author’s choice stops being a matter of style and becomes an approach: the tower is born inside a garden, not next to one. The gesture that defines the residence is the private lift, which does away with the shared corridor and makes the apartment’s door coincide with the floor’s door. Interiors by Carolina Protoi, of Estudio Obra Prima, with her preference for noble natural materials and sober lines; landscaping by Maria João d’Orey, a recurring name in Cidade Jardimi‘s highest-end axis.

Cidade Jardim: the address

There are two Cidade Jardims, and this address is clearly one of them. It is not the horizontal garden-neighbourhood of large lots and set-back houses that lies further ahead, at the heart of the residential district; it is the mixed-use complex on the edge of Marginal Pinheirosi, where JHSFi brought together residential towers, Shopping Cidade Jardimi, corporate towers and the Hotel Fasanoi within a single gated perimeter. The difference is practical, not semantic: from here you reach the grand maisons and fine dining indoors, without stepping onto the street, and Faria Limai and Jardim Europai lie on the other side of the river, a bridge away. In exchange, the setting is that of the avenue and the skyline — the woods of Volpii and the flower-named streets belong to the other half of the name.
