Oswaldo Correa Gonçalves

Who they are

Oswaldo Correa Gonçalves signs, with Benno Perelmutter, the road-grid design that served as the starting point for the Urban Plan of Riviera de São Lourenço, in Bertioga. The design was drawn up in compliance with guidelines issued by the Santos City Hall — at the time, Bertioga was still a district of Santos — and became the basis on which Sobloco wrote the setbacks, restrictions and land-use and occupation rules that still govern the neighbourhood today.

Language

  • Style: low-density coastal urbanism with controlled density, with a road hierarchy defined before the first sale.
  • Materials and brand: the layout as an instrument of discipline — the street designed so that future densification is already decided on paper.
