Who he is
Felipe de Gerone is the Brazilian architect who signs, as co-author, Forma Itaim, in Itaim Bibi, alongside the Spanish studio b720, led by Fermín Vázquez. The co-authorship is declared by the developer itself, Huma, in the development’s official technical sheet.
The project began in 2012 and was completed in 2017, on a narrow, restrictive plot from which the building’s slenderness is born — the concept the authors sum up as “respectful singularity”: standing out in a sea of undifferentiated towers without resorting to stridency. In 2019, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat awarded the building best skyscraper in the world in the under-one-hundred-metre category.
