Who it is
Huma Desenvolvimento Imobiliário is a São Paulo developer headquartered in Itaim Bibi, active since the early 2010s. Its thesis is set out in its own manifesto: buildings remain in the landscape for many years, so their impacts do too — and for that reason the company commits to reducing environmental impact, preserving the history of the area and thinking beyond its own wall. The mission it sets for itself is short: to undertake real estate projects that are good from the wall inward and from the wall outward. The vision is even shorter: the resident is a citizen.
The track record confirms this is not mere rhetoric. Forma Itaim, delivered in 2017 with a design by the Spanish firm b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, was named in 2019 by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat the best skyscraper in the world in the under-one-hundred-metre category.
