Souza Lima Construtora
A São Paulo builder that learned the high end through signature retail — five thousand jobs for renowned architects before it began raising residential buildings.
Who they are
Souza Lima Construtora is a São Paulo builder, headquartered in Morumbi, led by Alexandre de Souza Lima. The legal entity behind the operation, ASL & Souza Lima Construtora, was set up in August 1996.
Its trajectory is atypical, and it explains the product: the firm was formed building high-signature retail and gastronomy projects — Ráscal, América, Galeto’s, Le Lis Blanc, Nespresso, Zeferino, Jack Vartanian, Carlos Miele, Casa Natura, Serafina, KitchenAid, among others —, plus exclusive residences at Fazenda Boa Vista, in Porto Feliz. That is more than five thousand high-end jobs, almost all designed by name architects. In 2008, the same partner founded Meta Incorporadora, and from then on Souza Lima also began executing the residential buildings developed by its sister company.
Product vision
- Positioning: high-end construction under architect-led design — concept stores, restaurants, chains, residences and residential and commercial buildings.
- Differentiators: a method formed in signature retail, where short deadlines, exposed finishes and fidelity to the architect’s concept are non-negotiable; personalised service per job and supplier loyalty.
- Structure: operates in tandem with Meta Incorporadora, founded in 2008 by the same partner — development and execution sit under the same roof.
Works
- Único (Itaim Bibi) — 29 units across eight storeys, 5,625 m² built, designed by Studio Arthur Casas for Meta Incorporadora, completed in 2017. The wooden guillotine-shutter brise-soleil façade, operable across two storeys, is the gesture that defines the building.
- Outside the archive’s scope: the residences at Fazenda Boa Vista (Porto Feliz) and the long series of concept stores and restaurants in São Paulo.
