A studio with no shopfront: EGC's signature is in no magazine — it's on the document that authorised the building to rise.
Who it is
EGC is a São Paulo building-design studio. It keeps no website, no published portfolio and no editorial presence: what is known of the firm comes from the most reliable and least glamorous place there is — the City of São Paulo’s licensing process, where it appears as the project’s author, under the corporate names EGC Projetos Arquitetônicos Ltda and EGC Arquitetura Ltda, with technical responsibility held by Wilson Marchi Júnior.
It is a profile that exists by the hundreds across the city and is almost never named: the studio that designs for a developer, delivers the legal and executive drawings, and does not sign the sales campaign. In Perdizes, it is the author of the Helbor Sur La Cité — thirty-four units, twelve thousand square metres of built area, licensed in 2008 and built from 2010.
Language
With no material published by the studio, there is no declared repertoire to describe. What the one known work shows is the vocabulary of the established-neighbourhood residential building: a single tower on a large lot, a standard floor plan with full service quarters, four parking spaces per unit and a single duplex penthouse at the top.
